First Steps to Leadership
'First Steps to Leadership’ is an ideal first stage in recognising your potential as a future leader in your school. Whether you are in a teaching role, support or administration, this programme is equally valuable as it focuses on you as an individual and your effectiveness.
Based on Stephen Covey’s ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ (a book which you will be provided with), the programme will support your understanding of what makes leaders effective and provide you with the opportunity to enhance your skills and your personal effectiveness. You will take responsibility for the learning of the whole group, presenting to one another, developing creative learning opportunities and building a network of supportive colleagues from similar settings.
It can be delivered through a series of twilights or during a full day.

“The structure of the programme was really unique with colleagues delivering sessions on the habits. It led to some very creative presentations and lots of practical activities. I feel prepared for leadership.”
