RSHE - Relationships and Health Education Train the Trainer Programme
Course details
Wednesbury Teaching School Alliance is one of the three schools in the West Midlands region commissioned by DfE to provide free training to support schools in preparing for the statutory changes to the RSHE curriculum from September 2020.
Wave 1 has already started, but It's not too late to join. You can catch-up with a digital recording of the first session and join the live session next week, or register to receive each session digitally recorded, shortly after each event.
Wave 1 Primary Training is aimed at West Midlands primary schools. Our programme will be delivered through six, one-hour webinar modules for PSHE/ RSHE Lead teachers. There are also opportunities for Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs).

Module 1 on Wednesday 23rd September 2020 at 10.00am - 11.00am (or 1.30pm - 2.30pm)
"The Big Picture/ programme/ curriculum planning".
Module 2 on Wednesday 30th September 2020 at 10.00am - 11.00am (or 1.30pm - 2.30pm)
"Teaching RSE/ PSHE/ Pedagogy/ Mental Health focus".
Module 3 on Wednesday 7th October 2020 at 10.00am - 11.00am (or 1.30pm - 2.30pm)
"Puberty and the Changing Adolescent Body" - year 5/6 teachers may join this session, numbers permitting.
Module 4 on Wednesday 14th October 2020 at 10.00am - 11.00am (or 1.30pm - 2.30pm)
"Respectful Relationships/ Online Relationships".
Module 5 on Wednesday 21st October 2020 at 10.00am - 11.00am (or 1.30pm - 2.30pm)
"Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco".
Module 6 on Wednesday 4th November 2020 at 10.00am - 11.00am (or 1.30pm - 2.30pm)
"Being Safe and Way Forward".
At the end of the course you will be sent an evaluation form to complete.
Wave 2 starts January 2021.
There are opportunities for PSHE Specialist Leaders in Education (PSHE SLEs).

Course outcomes
WTSA has developed an immersive central programme of support for schools to:
· support delivery of these subjects.
· improve teacher access to resources.
· improve subject knowledge.
· build confidence including a focus on tools to improve schools' practice.
· provide course materials that have been developed to support lead teachers, non-specialist teachers and schools to develop training materials that are suited to their needs.
